CEVA Friendship Tournament

CEVA Friendship Tournament - Dec. 10 or 11, 2016

This tournament is a great warm-up for teams getting ready for the upcoming season. Players can get used to tournament play, have fun and build chemistry with teammates. Tournament entry is $65 per team.  There is still LIMITED availability in the tournament (in all age divisions).  Please call Cody in the CEVA office to inquire about registration, 503-644-7468.

Format & Schedule

We are planning a slightly different format for this year's tournament.  This format will allow for a bit shorter day and more opportunities for education of scorekeepers and referees in game-like situations

All teams will be in 4-team pools (unless divisions do not sell out).  Each match will be 3 sets guaranteed, first two sets to 25, third to 15 (capped at 27 or 17).  Teams will be "seeded" based on last year's Power League finishes and what other information may be available.  We are looking to have officials on each court, with the primary goal being the education of scorekeepers and coaches in preparation for the season.  Each team will have one 3-set match to officiate, and each team will be off for one round.

8:00 AM or 2:00 PM - Seed 1 vs. Seed 3 (Seed 2 referee, Seed 4 off)
9:15 AM or 3:15 PM - Seed 2 vs. Seed 4 (Seed 3 referee, Seed 1 off)
10:30 AM or 4:30 PM - Seed 3 vs. Seed 4 (Seed 1 referee, Seed 2 off)
11:45 AM or 5:45 PM - Seed 1 vs. Seed 2 (Seed 4 referee, Seed 3 off)

If there are divisions that do not get filled on either day, teams in other divisions may be asked to play on a different day if capacity is reached (i.e. 44 teams register in the 14s division, but only 20 teams register in the 18s division, we may ask four 14s teams if they can play Sunday).  This type of schedule change would not be confirmed without the consent of all teams affected.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Registration opens on November 14th at 9:00 AM.
> Teams who cancel their registration between the time registration opens and 5:00 PM on Friday, December 2nd will receive a full refund.
> Teams who cancel their registration after 5:00 PM on Friday, December 2nd will receive NO REFUND, and will be fined $50.00.

Roster Info and Requirements:

All teams must be represented at the coaches meeting.
Teams must have printed roster.
Non-rostered players and coaches must bring valid CEVA/USAV Membership Card.
Coaches without IMPACT (not on a roster) must have completed background screening indicated on his/her Membership Card.
Ref/Scorer Certification - three (3) players certified as Junior Scorers and one adult, who is present, certified as a Referee. 12's teams must have a scorer-certified rostered adult to work score table with players (this can be a chaperone or another coach).
Uniforms - Numbers required, colors don't need to match exactly but should be similar. Libero should be in contrasting color.
