February 17-19, 2018 - Springfield, OR
This is a fun-filled event, aimed at teams looking for great atmosphere and competition. There are CEVA Head Officials for every match all three days (that's right coaches, you don't have to R-1 all weekend). There are also special prizes for teams showing patriotic spirit. The Bob Keefer Center for Sports & Recreation (formerly known as Willamalane Regional Sports Center) will be the tournament center and Springfield High School will also host matches. This event created for 14s and 16s teams will be capped at 48 teams per division.
We anticipate registration opening on Monday, December 11th at 9:00 AM. Registration for this tournament will be done via AES. Entry fee is $450.00 per team. Teams are guaranteed between 8-9 matches, including at least 2 matches on the last day of play.
Refund & Cancellation Policy:
> Teams who cancel between the time registration opens and 5:00 pm PT on Friday, February 2, 2018, will receive a full refund.
> Teams who cancel between 5:00 pm PT on Friday, February 2, 2018, and 5:00 pm PT on Friday, February 9, 2018, will receive a refund ONLY if CEVA is able to replace your team in the tournament.
> Teams who cancel after 5:00 pm PT on Friday, February 10, 2018 will receive NO REFUND and will be fined $100.
Some teams have customized jerseys or worn costumes in patriotic themes for this tournament. We certainly encourage this, however please remember two key things:
1 - Jerseys MUST have numbers on the front and back that comply with parameters laid out in the USAV rule book. Remember, scorekeepers and officials still need to know who's who!
2 - Jerseys may NOT have glitter or anything else that may harm the floors or the facilities (glitter is VERY hard to get off floors).
Saturday & Sunday - 4-team pool play - two waves of play. We anticipate the 14s playing in the AM wave starting at 8:00 AM, and the 16s playing in the PM wave, starting at 3:00 PM.
Monday - 8-team bracket play - two waves of play. We anticipate all 14s and one 16s bracket to play in the AM wave at 8:00 AM. Remaining 16s will play in the PM wave starting at 1:30 PM.
Teams will be seeded based on their current Power League standings within their respective regions. Non-PL teams will be seeded based on results of tournaments they've participated in, with the help of other information gathered by the CEVA office.. On occasion, seeds will be slightly adjusted to prevent teams from the same club matching up in the same pools.
We do not currently anticipate having a coaches meeting prior to play. However, all coaches must turn in a current Webpoint roster to the tournament desk at your venue prior to your first match on Saturday.
