CEVA Boys Volleyball Clinic & Tournament March 15

Great day had by all at the CEVA Boys Volleyball Clinic & Tournament yesterday at Huntington Middle School in Kelso, Washington. Eight teams battled including champion Club Idaho Volleyball, finalist South Sound Volleyball Club, two teams from Spokane Boys Volleyball Club, Salem Volleyball Club, Space Needle Volleyball Club, ABC Apollo and ACES/YVBA. Former Canadian All-Star Cary Gatzke was our guest clinician. Check out photos from the event here.

Media Summit Friday, April 25, 2014

On Friday, April 25, 2014 CEVA will host a Media Summit at the Oregon Convention Center at 1 pm. The Media Summit will provide an opportunity for print, broadcast, online and photo journalists to conduct interviews and photo sessions with the region’s top volleyball players. Members of the media are invited to compete in a Media Challenge Volleyball Match at 1:30 pm.

Drew Carney (KGW) will captain the American Team including Kevin Max (1859-Oregon's Magazine), Desiree Everett (Travel Portland), Jake Byron (98.7 The Bull), Spencer Rubin (KUIK) and Valerie Chamberlain (The Skanner). Head coaches include Taylor Agost, Oregon NW Juniors, University of Oregon, Nicole Rigoni, Oregon NW Juniors, University of Oregon, Madison McLain, Boss Volleyball Club, Western Oregon University, Amanda Short, Boss Volleyball Club, Western Oregon University and Kiley Barcroft, North Pacific Juniors, Southern Oregon University.

Men's & Women's Regional Championships April 19

BEAVERTON (March 10, 2014) – Columbia Empire Volleyball Association (CEVA) announced today that their men’s and women’s volleyball championships will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at The Courts in Beaverton. “Our region has hosted men’s and women’s volleyball championships since 1981. This year in particular our depth of field is impressive. Several former All-Americans are dominating the local scene. Teams can go on to play in the 2014 USA Volleyball Open National Championships May 23-28, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona,” said Executive Director Breen Goodwin.

Men’s teams expected to compete include: All Day, Excel NW, Lakeside, NP Beach Club, Off in the Corner, OSU Black, OSU Orange, Riverview, Sideout Squad and The Heat. Women’s teams expected to compete include: Athena, Bad Girls Club, Central Oregon, Good Volley Miss Molly, Karma, Mad Dogs, Made to Play, Main Event Sports Grill, Notorious Dig, NW Reign, Portland State University Collegiate Club, Reflex, Riverview and Team X.

USA Volleyball High Performance Tryouts April 25

All female volleyball players born in 1996 or after are invited to tryout Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Oregon Convention Center from 4-8 pm. Athletes should be at site no later than 3 pm to register and begin physical testing. Tryouts hosted for female players interested in vying for a spot in one of the following USA Volleyball National High Performance Teams and Programs: USA Youth & Junior National Teams (competing in the 2014 NORCECA Continental Championship), USA National A1 Training Team Programs (Junior, Youth and Select, competing at the USA HP Championships), USA National A2 Team Invitational Team Programs (Junior, Youth and Select), USA National A3 Training Program (Youth & Select), USA National Skills Program (Select and Future Program), USA National Skills Program (Select and Future Select Program) and USA Future Select National Training Program.
