CEVA is collecting gently worn, used and new athletic shoes to raise funds for the region’s scholarship funds. CEVA will earn funds based on the total weight of sneakers and running shoes collected, then Sneakers4Funds will issue a check for the collected sneakers. Those dollars will directly benefit CEVA’s scholarship funds, which are distributed to student-athletes annually in December. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new athletic shoes at the 2023 CEVA Regional Championships.
Collection bins will be set up at this year’s Regional championships. Shoes must be donated in pairs and must be gently worn, used, or new. They must still be in a condition where they can be used again.
All donated running shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Sneakers For Good network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Sneakers4Funds works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the athletic shoes collected in the Sneakers For Good program are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send to her son to law school.
By recycling gently worn, used and new athletic shoes to CEVA, the running shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives around the world, and you will be helping more student-athletes in the region participate in volleyball.
