CEVA Announces Two New Board Members
The Columbia Empire Volleyball Association has announced that two new members will be added to the Board of Directors effective July 1. Additionally, two current members were reelected to their current positions on the Board.
Kelly Bentley was elected as the Parent Representative on the Board. Ms. Bentley has experience with multiple clubs as a parent and a club board member. Cara Freeman was elected as the Junior Girls’ Representative on the Board. As the director of Rise Volleyball Club in Medford, Ms. Freeman will take over the seat vacated by Charley Stanton, whose term will be ending on June 30.
Kelly Havig was elected to her second term as the Officials’ Representative on the Board. Havig begins a new three-year term on July 1, looking to continue the progress the region has made in the areas of officials’ recruitment, retention, and benefits. Jenna Cox was also elected to her second term on the Board. Ms. Cox serves as the Diversity & Inclusion Representative and will begin a new three-year term on July 1. She remains as the Chair of the CEVA Diversity & Inclusion Committee and will look to continue development of the CEVA Athlete Success Fund and other initiatives to help bring volleyball opportunities to all.
CEVA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit governed by a 13-member Board of Directors. The primary purposes of the Board are strategic planning, fiscal responsibility, and oversight of several standing committees. CEVA’s four paid employees are charged with carrying out the day-to-day operations of the region with guidance from the Board.
