Try a 10-minute team conversation
A suggested activity for a coach or club leader to adapt to the age and needs of the group. Participation should be voluntary; nobody needs to disclose personal experiences.
- Set the tone — 2 minutes. Agree to listen, avoid assumptions, and let anyone pass.
- Explore — 3 minutes. Ask: “What helps a new person feel part of this team?” Invite examples of useful actions.
- Practice — 3 minutes. Imagine a teammate is left out of a group chat. Discuss a supportive response and when to involve a trusted adult.
- Choose one step — 2 minutes. Agree on one habit to try. Check in again at the next practice.
