NPJ 2nd Place Finish Highlights Strong CEVA Showing at 18s GJNC

RENO, NV (5/17/2025) – NPJ 18 Forefront finished second in the Open Division at the USAV 18s Girls Junior National Championships, held on May 1-3 in Reno, NV.  NPJ’s performance highlighted a strong showing from six teams who earned the right to participate in the event.

NPJ 18 Forefront lost to the #1 overall seed in the tournament in the championship final, their only loss in 9 matches.

ATHENAVB 18-1 Gold National finished 47th in the Open Division, a number that doesn’t do justice to their level of play at the event.  They suffered three 3-set losses on the first day of play, including a 20-18 third-set loss to the #1 overall tournament seed.  Six of their seven matches went to 3 sets.

NPJ Salem 18 National finished 29th in the National Division, despite being competitive in all their matches.  They had three 3-set losses in their 7 matches.

Aspire NW 18-1 Empire finished 11th in the American Division.  They went 5-4 overall in the tournament and were in the championship running until the challenge rounds.  G3VB 18-1 finished 45th in the American Division.

Excel NW 18-1 Lux finished 21st out of 48 teams in the Freedom Division, and they also were one match away from moving into the championship rounds, falling in a challenge bracket at the end of day 2.
