Girls Club Volleyball Tryouts: What Families Need to Know
Getting ready for club volleyball tryouts? Before heading to the gym, confirm your club’s plans, gather the required paperwork, and review the resources below.
Girls tryouts may begin on these dates:
- November 8 — 14 & Under girls
- November 15 — 15 & Older girls
These are the earliest dates tryouts may begin. Each club sets its own tryout schedule. Check the USAV Age Definitions to confirm which date applies to your player.
Know Where to Go for Tryouts
CEVA is the regional governing organization, not a club. We oversee clubs in our region, but we do not conduct tryouts. Our office address is not a gym or a tryout location.
Once you decide which clubs your player would like to try out for, visit the CEVA Club Directory to find their tryout times and locations. If a club has not listed that information, contact the club directly using the contact information on its directory page.
Do Your Homework Before Tryouts
Contact clubs ahead of time to learn about their tryout processes, the teams they intend to form, and their coaching philosophies. Ask about practice locations, schedules, costs, and how players are selected and offered a place on a team.
Taking time to research clubs will help your family understand what to expect and make an informed decision. Find club contact information in the CEVA Club Directory.
Get Your Membership
Every player participating in an in-person tryout needs a CEVA membership. We highly recommend a 26-27 CEVA Girls Tryout Membership.
Memberships are non-refundable.
Visit the CEVA Membership page for information about purchasing a membership.
What to Bring to Tryouts
- Proof of your CEVA membership.
- A completed Medical Release Form. Every player attending a tryout must complete the form and turn it in to the club at tryouts. Download the Medical Release Form.
- Anything else your club requires. Ask ahead about proof of date of birth, gender, tryout fees, and any additional forms.
Understand the Letter of Commitment
Before attending tryouts, review the CEVA Letter of Commitment so your family understands the commitment involved. Ask each club about its offer and acceptance process before tryout day.
