CEVA Partners With AVCA & Taraflex® to Advance Coaching Education
BEAVERTON, OR (7/15/2025) – The Columbia Empire Volleyball Association (CEVA) is partnering with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and Taraflex® to provide forty individual AVCA memberships free of charge to high school & interscholastic coaches.
Starting today, coaches will be able to apply for memberships via the AVCA-Taraflex Membership Online Application Form by Friday, August 29 at 2:00 PM Pacific. Forty applicants will be selected for a free AVCA High School/Interscholastic membership (a $95 value) that will be valid through September 30, 2026. Memberships are one-time memberships that are valid for one year.
To qualify for consideration, coaches must be new members to the AVCA and must be actively coaching volleyball at the high school/interscholastic level. This includes coaches for girls and boys volleyball (head coaches, assistant coaches, etc.).
The State of Oregon is one of three states in the country selected to receive an allotment of 40 membership scholarships for the 2025-2026 season. The other two states are Missouri and Kansas. The 2025 AVCA Convention will be held in Kansas City this December. The University of Oregon is in the process of laying Taraflex’s 120th court, and to honor that accomplishment, 120 total membership scholarships are being distributed through these three states.
This initiative kicked off with 100 membership scholarships in 2024 that went to coaches in Detroit, Kentucky, New York City, and Tennessee. The locations were strategically selected based on existing connections and developing connections in those areas. It also presented an opportunity to commemorate the laying of Taraflex’s 100th volleyball court at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
