Aaron Eaton Named CEVA Officials’ Chair
BEAVERTON, OR (9/18/2025) – Aaron Eaton has been named as the next Officials’ Chair of the Columbia Empire Volleyball Association. He replaces Marcia Costley in this role, who stepped back to focus on other officiating initiatives.
Costley, who served as the region’s Officials’ Chair for many years, will remain in the role of Officials’ Assignor and will continue to work with the Officials’ Committee and the CEVA staff. She will also continue to serve as a head official at many of the region’s signature multi-day events. She remains active with PAVO and in several other roles locally & nationally.
Eaton is a longtime CEVA and USAV official with extensive experience in club, high school, and collegiate volleyball. He is a USAV National Official and National Scorer, ratings he’s held for over ten years each. In his role, he will work in collaboration with the CEVA staff to grow the officials’ cadre of the region, advance training & development opportunities, and assist with education, meetings, and the CEVA Officials’ Committee. He will oversee training, ratings, and work with the staff on recruitment of new officials. He will also represent CEVA on the national stage as the region’s liaison to USA Volleyball’s officiating division.
CEVA’s officiating division continues to grow, with more than 20 new recruits expressing interest in joining over the last year. Development opportunities have also expanded, and CEVA had two officials earn new national-level ratings from USAV last year alone.

She’s been a tireless advocate for our officials and has worked very closely with the staff to ensure our officials have a positive experience in our game.
