CEVA All-Star Delegation Competes in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH (7/28/2026) – The Columbia Empire Region’s All-Star delegation has completed a four-day run at the USAV All-Star Championships in Columbus, OH.  The girls’ 15s team finished in 11th place and the girls’ 17s team finished 20th in their respective divisions.

Twenty-three regions send delegations to compete in the tournament, featuring some of their highest-level talent.  The tournament competes under international rules, and all matches are best of 5.  More than 100 college coaches are either recruiting or coaching teams annually at this event.

The 15s team finished with a 4-3 overall record, including a win over the overall #4 seed in the tournament on the first day and a reverse sweep over Oklahoma in pool play.  They ended their tournament in the National Gold bracket, falling to the Palmetto Region.  Their run also included wins over Puget Sound and Excelsior.

The 17s team ended on a high note Sunday with a 5-set come-from-behind win over Great Plains.  They faced a tough road in pool play, starting their tournament against #1 seed and eventual champion North Texas.  Their road through pool play also included a hard-fought 5-set loss to Lakeshore.  In their win over Great Plains, they came back in the fifth set from deficits of 6-1 and 10-5 to secure the victory.  The 17s team was young, featuring several rising freshmen.

CEVA will continue to send an all-star delegation to this annual event, which will be held in Mesa, AZ next July.  Tryouts for the teams typically happen in May, followed by training camp prior to the delegation’s departure.  Players from all clubs are encouraged to learn more by contacting Callie Wilkins (CEVA Operations Manager & All-Star Program Director) by e-mail.  While CEVA did not field a boys’ team in 2026, the tournament does have boys’ 15s, 17s, and 19s divisions.
